Fundamentals of T1 Networking: Module 1
Coming Soon! Call for More Information!

Fundamentals of T1 Networking, Module 1

We have all been exposed to the industry buzzing about the use of T1. What has been lacking, however is the information about what the use of all digital transmission will do for you. The rumors in the industry are that T1 is very expensive, when in fact the pricing of the circuits and the equipment is a relative matter. When you look at the benefits that can be achieved, the costs may not appear as drastic. Although this is a very technical subject, in the Fundamentals of T1 Networking CD-ROM series we will simplify the terms, acronyms, uses and the components making up a T1 service.

Module 1 of this 2-part series will include looking at the basics of T1 Fundamentals, explain what a T1 is and what sorts of options are available for T1 users. We'll get into using the T1 for both voice and data services, and then take a look at some of the digital networking standards.

Fundamentals of T1 Networking, Module 2

We have all been exposed to the industry buzzing about the use of T1. What has been lacking, however is the information about what the use of all digital transmission will do for you. The rumors in the industry are that T1 is very expensive, when in fact the pricing of the circuits and the equipment is a relative matter. Although this is a very technical subject, in the Fundamentals of T1 Networking CD-ROM series we will simplify the terms, acronyms, uses and the components making up a T1 service.

Module 2 of this 2-part series will include looking at the various pieces of equipment that are used in a T1. We'll examine problem resolution - what happens when errors occur and what steps can be taken to fix or prevent it. We'll also look at the timing and signaling used on a T1, as well as peek into the future use of T1 networking.

xDSL: Digital Subscriber Lines

xDSL: Digital Subscriber Lines

Since the Telecommunications Act of 1996, there has been increased pressure on the Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs) to provide high-speed, reliable Internet access. However, they need to be able to utilize their existing installed local loop infrastructure. Therefore, a new form of communications was needed to work over the existing copper cable plant. Enter xDSL. The DSL family includes multiple variations of Digital Subscriber Line, including Asymmetrical DSL (ADSL), ISDN Like DSL (IDSL), High Bit Rate DSL (HDSL), Consumer DSL (CDSL), Rate Adaptive DSL (RADSL), Very High-Speed DSL (VDSL), and Single DSL (SDSL). Each DSL capability carries differences in speed, throughput and facilities used. In this xDSL: Digital Subscriber Lines CD-ROM, we will take a look at each member of this family, the ways they are being installed and implemented, and what the future holds for xDSL.

SS& Sending the Right Signals

Signaling across the network has advanced dramatically over the past decade. Since the introduction of signaling system number 7 (SS7) the carriers have been installing new services and features. The ISDN and AIN features are dependent on appropriate signaling. In this SS7: Sending the Right Signals CD-ROM we will cover the parts of the network from A to Z.
